How to convert images to PDF
PDF is the format offices, schools and forms ask for. Turning photos of documents, receipts or notes into one PDF makes them easy to email, upload and print.
The converter builds the PDF in your browser with pdf-lib, an open-source PDF library. Each image becomes one page, in the order shown, scaled to fit the page and centred.
No quality loss for JPG and PNG
JPG photos that are already upright and ordinary PNG images are placed into the PDF as they are, without being re-compressed, so the PDF keeps their full quality. Phone photos that are stored sideways (with a rotation flag in their EXIF data) are turned upright first, and formats a PDF cannot hold directly, such as WebP, GIF and BMP, are converted to JPG, or to PNG if they have transparency.
Page size and orientation
- A4 (210 × 297 mm) is the standard almost everywhere outside North America.
- US Letter (8.5 × 11 inches) is the standard in the United States and Canada.
- Same as each image makes every page exactly the size of its image, with no white borders. This is ideal for screenshots and slides.
Orientation can follow each image (landscape pages for wide images, portrait for tall ones) or be fixed. The margin adds white space around each image on A4 and Letter pages.
Private by design
Your images are processed by your own browser and never uploaded to a server, so they stay on your device. There is no watermark, no sign-up and no limit on how many images you convert.
Frequently asked questions
How many images can I combine?
As many as your device can hold in memory; dozens of photos are no problem. Very large photos make the PDF larger, so compress them first if the file must be small.
Will my photos lose quality?
Upright JPG and plain PNG images are embedded without re-compression, so they keep their quality. Other formats are converted at high quality.
Why are my phone photos sideways in other tools?
Phones store the rotation as a flag instead of rotating the pixels. This tool reads that flag and turns the photo upright before adding it.
Is it free and private?
Yes. There is no watermark or sign-up, and the images never leave your browser.
