How to use the Date Difference Calculator
- 1 Pick a start date and an end date (the order does not matter).
- 2 Tick "Include the end date" if both days should count.
- 3 Read the difference in years/months/days, total days, weeks and business days.
Formula
Days = end date − start date Business days = weekdays (Mon–Fri) in the range Include end date: add 1 day
Worked examples
Input: 1 March 2026 → 30 June 2026
Result: 121 days
86 business days
Input: Same dates, end date included
Result: 122 days
Counts both first and last day
Should I include the end date?
By default the difference is "exclusive": from Monday to Tuesday is 1 day. If you are counting days of attendance, hotel nights versus days, or a leave period where both the first and last day count, tick include the end date.
Business days and holidays
Business days exclude Saturdays and Sundays. Public holidays differ by country and region and are not deducted — subtract them manually if needed.
Frequently asked questions
How many days are between two dates?
Enter both dates — the total days box shows the exact count, accounting for leap years.
Are weekends excluded?
Only in the business-days result; the total days figure counts every calendar day.
Does the order of the dates matter?
No. If the end date is earlier, the tool shows the absolute difference and tells you the dates are reversed.
